Football and adventure weeks

Football is sport. Football is a game. The football camp for siblings of children with life-threatening illnesses gives children a lot of joy. They are enabled to forget their certainly not easy everyday life a little and to have fun and joy together with other children. Especially sports and especially team sports like football create a cooperation which works completely independent of origin, skin colour, ability, handicap and gives a lot of fun and joy. In this respect, the initiators of this event deserve my respect and my thanks for making this possible.

In the last 5 years …

we were able to give almost 120 children from socially disadvantaged families, refugee children and shadow children the opportunity to participate in a Real Madrid Camp, financed by sponsors.
In some cases, we also realised full-time camps for siblings of life-shortened, grieving and severely handicapped children from all over Germany, and gave them the opportunity to take part in the camp for one week, under full supervision, and to get away from the difficult everyday life in the family.

Siblings of children with life shortening illnesses, mourning or severe disabilities

Combines the fact that their family situation is significantly changed by the diagnosis of a life-shortening illness of the brother or sister. In the affected families, the focus is understandably strongly on the sick child, which is why the siblings often take a back seat.

Due to the overload of the parents, the wishes and needs of the siblings are unfortunately often neglected. The siblings have a completely normal everyday life in which they – like every child – need care and attention. Unfortunately, this is often not possible due to the situation in the affected families.
With the football and adventure week, we would like to give the siblings of children who have fallen ill for a short time and are disabled a moment of happiness, they should simply have fun, escape from everyday life and …

Just being a child …

The entire family life is focused on the sick child and siblings are often unintentionally put off in their needs. Further needs, such as spontaneous excursions, recreation or simply taking a deep breath, are not easily possible for these affected families.
